Our Story
Making Music was created in 2000 by James Rigby and Jane Thompson and has been busy performing, building musical instruments, teaching, composing, arranging and organisng ever since. In recent years the focus has zeroed in on facilitating groups of people all around Australia to meet and make music together even if they have never done so before.
This happens at festivals, conferences, prisons and schools. The outcomes are stronger communities and increased well being with enhanced capacity for self expression.
Since 2019 Jane has shifted her focus to other pursuits and James is now continuing the work of Making Music with his choirs in Bendigo and Castlemaine as well as festivals and teaching around Australia.
Our Approach
Making Music believes that everyone can make music. Further more we believe that the opportunities to make music fundamentally strengthens individuals and the communities that they live in
Meet the Team
Write something about the people who make your business go or your philosophy behind customer service. Why? Because people want to know who they’re doing business with. It’s a human thing.

Jane Thompson
